DARLA 2.0 - A FISH'S HORROR STORY

This happened when I was really small. My Dad loves to keep pets. I heard that he once had a dog..No wait... Two dogs, a parrot, a squirrel and yes! a big aquarium with all kinds of fish in it. There were goldfish, red swordtail, kissing fish and other pretty fishes, I don't know their names. After all, it doesn't matter. I mean they swim around and gather when someone feeds them. That's all they do... Fishes are so boring.

Duh!

I always wanted a pet dog. Apparently, we couldn't have one because my father said "No dogs in this house!?". How is that even fair?
If he kept two when he was a child, why can't we have at least one? But then he smashed the whole debate with this one argument "I already got two dogs in this house!!!! (He was extravagantly referring to me and my sister) , can't take one more!". Alright alright!
My father is a very nice man, in order to digress our minds from the idea of a pet dog, he bought us a parrot sculpture. I know right!!! Treat for the eyes indeed .. Woah! What are we supposed to do with that..? Stare at the thing for hours and what??
I couldn't do that then, but, when I reached my teens I had all kinds of depressing thoughts, and I don't mind spewing them out to, be it a parrot statue or mud wall. Being an adult sucks!

After the failed attempt of statues and stuffed dolls, my father finally made up his mind to get us something that actually breathes the air we breathe. You know what I'm talking about...Right? If not, failed attempt of humor. It always happens to me. I'm not embarrassed...Pfft!
What I intended to say was, I finally got a........... FIISSHHHHHHH.!!!! Now, how cool is that! Isn't it? Believe me, it's not cool, I would rather watch the ants marching all its way home, than watching these fishes swim around. After a while, it got so boring. So boring, that my curious mind as a child wandered through mysterious paths... Please don't judge me...I was just 4 or 5 when this happened...
We bought some five or six fishes. Black Molly and Golden Fish. Nothing fancy there. I know!
One day as I was enjoying my time, playing with my dolls and cars my gaze suddenly hit the aquarium. Aw... Look at them...Such peaceful creatures...Let me just...Just one time... And with that thought, I cautiously strolled towards the aquarium. And when I almost got near the tank "I jumped and yelled at the tank... AAAAAPISSHKOOOOOOOO".I scared the shit out of them... Aha!!! (Please forgive me, lord!)  Now that's what you call "Fun with Fishes "!!! I got a motive now... Scared off every single one of em..! Looking back I see myself as the dentist's rambunctious niece in Finding Nemo. If you never watched Finding Nemo... Um...Too bad...Hearty Condolences to your childhood...
That's her in the picture. Name is Darla by the way.

I get bored easily...That's just the way I am..Feeling Twenty-two right now...Still didn't change a bit. Anyways the point is, I got bored scaring off the fishes, I needed something that's more fun to do. Curiosity sometimes is a curse.
One day this thought struck my mind" What's gonna happen if I have the fishes off the water... Obviously, they'd die... But what if...What if I keep them half inside the water and half out... "Now.. Now...I just couldn't get rid of this thought... I'm sorry I did this. Yes, I'm sorry I held em half in half out... And after two seconds again let them in the water...Three days after, a goldfish died. (That wasn't part of the plan. I just wanted to know how they'd breathe)

Kids, please don't try this at home.

Reason : I tortured the fishes a couple of times until one day. My father once happened to see this sin his daughter kept doing and yes he caught me in the act. I dropped the fish back in the tank and ran for my life...I thought I'd get away, that was the only time my father ran after me, caught me and I got one hell of a smack I don't even dread to remember that day. Karma paid off well and good.
After this incident, I didn't even have the slightest thought of hurting another animal, I learned my lesson, for a week I was scared so much, I once asked my father, there's a mosquito on my cheek, mind if I hit it..? Before I could say anything my sister got the job done.....
